Hello and welcome to Good Art by Han!

I am Hannatu, a self-taught artist based in Lagos Nigeria.

Creating and enjoying art has always been healthy escapism from the mundaneness of daily life for me, and the idea for Good Art by Han was born by the need to explore art as a tool for social impact, with a percentage of the proceeds from each piece donated to a social cause for women.

My primary subjects are black women, and my expressions are mostly bold portraits painted on paper using watercolour and ink. My work explores various themes that reflect the lived experiences and inner worlds of the modern African woman, unafraid to take up her space in the world.

I believe that the therapeutic benefits of art should be enjoyed by everyone, and my aim is to drive conversations that inspire joy and hope through the beauty of art.
